HP Officejet 6950 Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshooting ink cartridge issues:
  1. Use genuine hp ink cartridges to better your printing experience. As hp ink cartridges are specifically made to suit each printer model, the hp ink cartridges alone will give you better prints.
  2. Turned on your 123 hp officejet 6950 printer, open the cartridge access door. Remove the ink cartridges and check whether any packing materials have been left in the ink cartridges.
  3. If an error ink light displays in your printer’s control panel, turn on your 123 hp officejet 6950 printer. Open the cartridge access door and take away the ink cartridges. Reinstall them in the holders properly. And close the cartridge access door. Repeat it twice or thrice.
  4. Turn on your 123 hp officejet 6950 printer and open the cartridge access door. Allow the cartridges to settle in the position. Remove the ink cartridges. Turn off the printer and unplug the wire. Then, clean the ink nozzles and the electrical circuit using the clean, soft and wet cloth. Let the ink cartridges to dry up for 10 minutes and then reinstall it again.
  • Troubleshooting print quality issues:
  1. If your printer’s print quality is not good, then check for the ink levels and change the low or empty ink cartridges.
  2. Then, check whether you are using the correct printer driver for your 123 hp officejet 6950 printer.
  3. Make sure that you load the untorn and neat plain white sheets in the paper tray.
  4. Turned on your printer, open the cartridge access door. Check whether any paper is stuck in the paper tray, rollers or in the print heads and clean them.
  5. Take a test print to check for the print quality.


For Windows:

  1. Perform any one of the following based on the operating system you use.
    1. Windows 8: Start – – >All Apps – – > Printer name – – > Utilities.
    2. Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP: Start – – > All Programs – – > HP – – > Printer folder.
  2. Select Printer Setup & Software.
  3. Tap on Connect a new printer.
  4. When asked, choose the appropriate connection.
  5. Follow the on screen prompts to complete the setup process.

For Macintosh (OS X):

  1. Connect your HP printer to your wireless network.
  2. Go to the Applications/Hewlett-Packard/Device Utilities section and then select HP Setup Assistant.
  3. Now, change the connection to wireless for your printer.
